You all know from my last post that I have been working two jobs. I am not sure, however, if I clarified that I was working two jobs in one day. That’s right. I was getting off from my main job at the hospital then clocking into my next job not even 30 minutes later.
Recently, I left that secondary job in favor of another secondary job at another hospital nearby. So yes, I’m technically still working two jobs, but I’ll only be working one job in a day. This will save a lot of stress and fatigue on my body and mind.
However, that being said, “the COVID” has recently hit my small little town hard causing unforeseen schedule changes. What that meant for me was switching between night and day shifts for a brief period of time which caused a lot of sleep schedule changes and overtime in a short period of time. Thankfully, I like working nights so I had no problem taking the shifts. Furthermore, I like overtime. Lastly, I’m thankful I still have my health and a job!
As far as the Summer reading program at my local library went…well I’m sure you can image the havoc working two jobs in a day did for that nine-week program. I did get to finish a few though. I have published Charm and The Girl with the Zebra Leg. Idlewild is coming soon. I also still intend to finish all the books I had set aside for the different genres. Next on the list, for example, is The Book Thief.
For this week, along with my “adulting”, I would like to get more of the posts for books I’ve read typed out. Some of these posts go back to books I read in 2018 and wrote posts out on my phone but never published due to it being a continuation of a series with similar plots. Now that there has been some time between, I feel better about posting them so as not to bore you all completely to death.
Hopefully, you are all hanging in there because I have a lot of fun topics I would like to bring to this blog.
We’ll chat later,
Alex
